How to Watch Satellite Subscription Programs Free Of Charge

Entertainment comes with a price. Even the very basic of home entertainment using TV is not free. In my location we pay a license to own one and another subscription to top up the free to view channels to watch decent programs. And depending on the package, it could mean a hefty chunk of the monthly budget.

But with the high speed internet already available, coupled with gadgets and brilliant apps makers, it could mean some savings to your monthly entertainment budget for some popcorn during a marathon movie night.

Here's what you need and how to set-up.

• An android tablet or mobile phone with at least OS 4.1 (Jellybean) or above. The latest is better. You can check the OS by going to Settings>General>About Device>Android Version

• Using your android mobile phone, download the application at https://www.mobdro.com/ . Do not stray away from this site as the others will lead you to a never ending link of advertising. See screenshot of the site below and click download the app.

• Once dowloaded and before hitting install, make sure that your device is authorized to install unknown applications by going to Settings>General>Security>and tick Unknown Sources

• And also make sure that the minimum requirement Android 4.1 or above is onboard your mobile or tablet.Otherwise a parse error message will display and the installation will not be complete.

• Successful installation will not ask you for additional setup and will work straight away. Now you can enjoy a wide variety of cable and satellite programs from movies to sports and other international channels for free.

Hack iLivid Video Player Content

If you are frustrated to watch movies online cloaked with iLivid download to be installed  before it permits you to watch the content, then you are not alone. I myself is disappointed in stumbling many sites that wanted you to install this for an obvious reason, advertising revenue for the site, as there is a "pay for action" type of advertising these software companies apply to harvest user's data.

A way to get round to this without installing the software is to download the movie instead of playing it on the fly. One good reason to do this is you can keep and play the movie later, and another one is you do not need to download the software that can be bundled with potentially dangerous software without your knowledge.

But there is a problem to this, the site usually do not have a download button visible. Actually, sites like these intentionally do not put buttons but actions with every mouse or keyboard activity which might include a new window being opened or new tab with advertising contents. A smart move for webmasters to gain revenue but a very annoying experience to users.

The way to get even with them is to get under their hood and download their file from there using their own source code. How to do this?

1. Whilst at the movie window page(Fig. 1), press CTRL + U simultaneously. A page code will popup(fig.2).

2. Find the file by clicking the menu button(1) and typing file(2) on the search window. The search identified 10 items. Scroll down the results using the arrow keys and watch out for the file content under a video player in this case jwplayer(3). You can also easily identify the content with mp4, flv, avi or mpeg extensions, which in this case, mp4.

3. Highlight the whole script under file from http to mp4 then right click it, then click goto http://.....(4)

4. The file automatically starts downloading, and you can see the progress at the bottom of the browser.

5. The file is located at the download folder(6) and now you can access it without interruption and without the need for the iLivid download!

HowTo Hack HTML Code To Download Movies Without Download Button

One of the advantages of the internet is users can watch movies without going to the movie houses. Streaming services, whether legal or illegal is abundant. You can take your pick  But just be careful because some of these sites are fake and can cause problems to your computer like  installing  malwares or viruses by enticing you to click a button or a link to watch a movie. One of the classic signs  is when a site is telling you to update a player or missing a player to see the movie.. Another problem is the lack of  bandwidth that you require to watch the streaming movie without interruption.

If this is the case, there are two solutions. One is to put the player in pause and let the movie buffer before playing or  to download  the whole movie first before viewing. Personally,  I prefer the second.  But what if there is no download button?

Most sites do not have download buttons or are  only available to registered or paying members. These are usually hidden on the scripts used. It seems impossible to download the streaming movies on these sites but sometimes they are available in the form of a link when you inspect the HTML code in the site's playing window.  It sounds complicated but it is easy. Here's how to get to it.

1. Go to streaming player window

As you may need to click links after links, this depends on the site you are watching from, you need to be on the page where the entire video is being played. To find this out, click the play video and the running time....

2. Make sure it is the entire video and not just the trailer

 ....(1) should appear or hover your cursor at the  right lower corner of the player window until you see the total running time. If this makes sense, usually more than 60 minutes, then this is the page you are looking for and from here you can extract the download link.

 3. Get the source code

Click the(2) 'control' button, select(3) 'more tools' then (4) 'view source'.

4. Search for video files

Whilst at the source code page, click the (2)'control' button again and this time, click (5) 'find' then type at the (6) search box for these video file extensions one at a time, avi, flv, mp4, mkv.  If available, the search term will be highlighted at the source code and will show(6) how many is identified.

5. Distinguish the correct downloadable link

Not all with the 'mkv' result  is the correct downloadable link. You can distinguish the correct one by looking  at the beginning and ending of the source. It should start with  http:// and ends with the video file type avi, flv, mp4 and mkv, which is at this example  'mkv'.

6. Download

'Highlight' the(7) entire link, right click, then choose (8) 'go to'. 

The link will be downloaded automatically, and if you are using chrome(browser used at this post), the downloaded file will appear at the left bottom of your browser. The completed download can be accessed at your download folder.

Last Words.

This trick is  worth trying if you have limited bandwidth to experience uninterrupted video streaming, or you want to download for later viewing. However, it dos not work on all websites as  other sites are coded well that they do not contain a trace of the video file location.  This post is only for instructional purpose and to point out to some webmasters that their files can still be downloaded even without the physical download button. 

Watch TV and Movies on Smartphones and PC's Part 2

Here's the second part of how to watch live TV on your PC and smartphone. If you've done the instructions on part 1 and already running XBMC media center, then install this add on. This will give you a tidier interface of watching contents like Movies, Television Shows, HD Content, 3D Content, International TV's, Live Streams, Sports and Events, Documentaries, Adventure and Children’s Content.  It is not native within the application so point your browser to

You can use this link to use with laptop and smartphone. The key to no sweat installation is you know where the downloaded file is.

PC's and Laptops

 Download the zip file and remember the download destination. Don't do anything yet at this point. Open up XBMC and go to systems menu. Click the systems menu (encircled) or settings submenu, to get you into the add on browser, 

Click add-ons, install from zip file, C:(Systems) then navigate to where the downloaded file is. If you have not changed the default destination folder for downloads, go to this path, C:(system), users, click your user name, downloads, then look for this folder repository.superrepo.org.frodo.all-0.2.1

Once installed, go back to systems and click the settings menu, get add ons(1) then choose Super Repo(2). This will add mash up in the list of video add ons. Now go to Videos and hit add ons(3), click get more(4) and click mash up(5) and Install it. Mash up will then be ready to use. Click on it(6) to get into the interface.

Watch Live TV

Click live, then my country, choose which country to watch TV from. Existing channels will be shown. 

With mash up, you can now watch live TV. OFW's like me can now watch GMA 7 and ABS-CBN without subscription. The only downside is, you need to watch programs at the same time they are aired. Time difference might be a problem because you'll be up awake at midnight watching a show for a morning breakfast. For the OFW's this is for you.

Watch TV and Movies on Smartphones and PC's Part 1

One of the coolest features of  a smartphone is it's ability to entertain you. Watching movies anywhere and anytime is possible by this all-in-one device. But what about watching live TV?

Years ago, one needs a smartphone phone with TV tuner built in to watch live channels. This made the smartphone looks not so smart because of the added bulk for the additional hardware and the built in antennae to receive TV channels. Another downside is it can only receive analogue signals, which means not stable signal reception that causes viewing interference, that's why built in receivers did not take off.

Then later, TV watching is made possible by free and paid for applications, which made the experience even better. Now TV signals and other video streaming services are in the palm of your hands.

Which Application?

There are many apps for this purpose but among the rest, this one impressed me the most, the XBMC media center, which is available for most operating systems, and either for devices like mobiles, PC's, Mac's including apple TV's. Apple product users need to jailbreak their devices to enjoy XBMC. Windows users can install it without doing anything with their devices, and android users need to prepare their device before downloading and needs to familiarize where the downloaded files are kept.

What XBMC can do?

XBMC can let you watch international TV stations which are streamed over the internet. There are also movie and sports channels that you can access. Some of the channels are region restricted which means, your location might be blocked to view these programs. There is also an add on called Mash up (watch out for part 2 of this post) for even more international channels. This is the most feature rich add on I've seen, my favourite and the one I use the most. It shows my favourite TV channel back home, ABS-CBN, and the latest release movies in 2013! This free feature loaded add on is even better than paid for streaming services.

Ready to watch? Here's the instructions. I used a windows 7 operating system for this example.

• Windows Users

Go to http://xbmc.org/download/ choose your device operating system then download and install the file.

After download click start(1) to open up the program ( in my case it is already included in the start menu items(2), if it is not, see it at all programs) and navigate to video then click add on(3).  You won't see much items yet but you can get more add ons(4) by clicking the button. The choose from the list which one you would like to get. In this example, I've choosen Discovery Channel(5). Click and install it. 

Choose other channels you like to build a collection of add ons. Add on variety includes newschannel, sports, movies and TV's from all over the world though some add ons have flatform and regional restrictions. To start watching, just click the channel and the show you want to see.

Then choose from the list of what's ready to see.

Aljazeera add on is good to watch live news around the world.  And if you are in the UK,  iPlayer and ITV are also included.

The Free Movie add on is great for watching movies, some titles are just recently released. There are also a collection of past blockbuster films. 

To go back to the desktop after you finished watching or for other reasons, just press the windows logo on your keyboard, but it is recommended to shut down the program by pressing the off button next at the XBMC interface.

• Android Users

Mobile fans with android phone can also enjoy XBMC. The program is not available at Play store so you need to navigate your browser to this address. I used a galaxy S3 for this example.

Before downloading, make sure your phone is set to accept download and installation from unknown sources. To check this, hit settings, security, and tick Unknown Sources, then carry on the download.

To access the downloaded file, go to my files (1), all files (2), then your default directory which can either be external or internal SD card. I've choosen extSDCard(3) because I've changed my default download directory. If you have not changed the default directory for downloads then most probably that the file is at the sdcard0. Then look under download(4) and click the file to install. If you can not install at this moment, most probably that your device doesn't accept unknown resources, get back from settings and do the instructions above.

Launch the program and do the steps like the Windows version. You can start adding add ons for your mobile device.  If you find the text of the addons to small to click on your mobile,  you can change the text into bigger icons by pressing the tab(1) then continue tapping view(2) until info 2(3) is choosen. Now you can comfortably click the add ons you want(4).

On Part Two, I will tell you the best add on for XBMC so far that lets me watch streaming world TV's, including a premium channel from Manila like the video below, and more latest movies! In fact, I think it's the only add on that I will ever needed to enjoy XBMC!
