One way of speeding up your pc is to defragment your hard disk. This means to "put back together the pieces of a program" in one place. Why?
Imagine your DVD collection when you have just started collecting DVD's. When you want a certain DVD, you can easily find it because there are just a few DVD's on the shelf. But when your collection grows, the time you need to find one takes time. And when someone messed up with your collections and put the disk in a different case, you would end up hours of looking.Your collection my friend, in terms of computer data is totally fragmented.
Windows has its built in tools, and you can access it by pressing start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragmenter, which can do the job. Target location which you can copy and paste in windows explorer search window or your own search bar the link location below.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools
But there are free third party applications that can do more than this, easy to use and better. One of which is Glarysoft Disk SpeedUp. You can download it at http://www.glarysoft.com/products/utilities/disk-speedup/download/
After download and installation, for the defragmenter to properly run, ensure you have to close applications running. Typically, SYSTRAY and EXPLORER are all you need to have running to run this application.
You can also further optimise your disk by choosing optimise function.
Optimisation in progress.
Do you still need to pay a software or a techie to defragment or know the meaning of defragmentation? No. Keeping your PC on top health is easy and free, and surely, you can do it regardless of computer literacy level.
