Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
can any user tell me how is the battery? can it last a day for normal usage(no games or watching movies, moderate browsing and checking emails, with auto screen brightness),.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
umm..don't blame the phone for the reps ignorance. Samsung Kies for syncing and Kies Air for wireless..does Outlook calendar no problem.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
I agree... I think the whole "smaller" smartphone point of view is somewhat... wrong.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
nice.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
How is the new battery working? I have had my phone for a little over a month and while I love it, the battery life is killing me. Don't get me wrong, I am def a power user and it is on all the time however, I need a bigger one. Where did you get yours?
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
busted...
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Hey look whos trollin smartass. All of the features. I dont see imessage, newsstand, reminders, instant camera acess and many editing features, and above all icloud. All android phones have scroll down notification systems which was the only thing they took from android. Samsung sbould be original which they are not. There is no reason to copy. Its not a bad phone.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
The SGS2 has been the top selling phone, all categories, since it's release in Europe. Why would US consumers want anything less than the best when the SGS2 is release on your side of the pond?
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
STFU, troll.
Look at the new "revolutionary" features Apple will implement in IOS 5. All of them are already available in TouchWiz. Are Samsung copying stuff six months in advance now?????
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Seems like it needs a short week to get good battery performance. Maybe something like the indexing on Windows xp/vista causing higher processor usage initially. Crappy apps are another culprit for poor battery life, if they cause constant high processor usage for some reason (like memory leaks or poor code), the dual-core will easily eat the battery stamina in 6-8 hrs.
If I leave my phone alone the battery meter is at 98-99% after five hours.
I have no problems getting 24 hrs with quite heavy usage. And I'm currently stuck at KE2 (the first bug-fix relaeased by Samsung), as Vodafone Ireland are really slow with their firmware updates.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Kies (The Samsung PC software you use to backup, sync and update your SGS2 with) can sync your phone with Outlook schedules, memo's and contacts.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
excellent spec's but I have been waiting long enough as it is for SGS2. I'm not waiting until next year for that.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
You sumed up my other reason. If i had locked in to another Iphone contract there would be no way i'd change after 4 years. Had to try something new. I like figuring out a new device.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Phones won't be getting any smaller for the time being, the trend is bigger, and honestly it's a better experience for most people in terms of web browsing and similar tasks.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Upgrading the firmware improved the battery performance by at least 60%.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
I use mine for work as well, and am having a better experience than I did with my iPhone. Exchange and Google (obviously, I suppose) integration is better than with the iPhone. Speech recognition is actually quite good with my South African accent (this didn't work at all with the iPhone). Very happy customer.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Upgraded from iPhone 3GS as well. iPhone 4 is fine, but wanted something different and not locked into the Apple environment.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Well... I have an Samsung Epic with Sprint (US) and how I get around that is I created a google calendar--which I sync with my outlook--which reports to my phone... AND :) I can update the google calendar and it will sync with my outlook. If you google this, there are great instructions and it's not a "deal breaker" crazy tough work around. ALSO my outlook is available via my office's exchange server. I can surf to the exchange server without any problem and view my calendar, emails, etc without downloading them to my phone (I use firefox and opera mobile to do that with.) I hope this is helpful! :) --D
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
WP7 Mango syncs with Outlook.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Agree with John sync Outlook to Google and let Google sync with your phone. Now if you connect to Microsoft Exchange through your Outlook then simply setting up an Exchange account directly on the phone is going to Sync all your goodies just like Google will.
I don't understand who would let Outlook sit on it's own island in this cloud centric age today. Your just asking for something to happen and losing all that calendar/contact information. To the cloud!
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Yes, u can use any GSM carrier like AT&T / T-Mobile
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
I have found a new update for s ii to Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 (XXKG2) here: http://www.phonesarchive.co...
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Sync outlook with google, then the phone w/google, should work, worked on my Droid!
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
Almost bought today until the sale rep said he didn't know how to sync with Outlook. Looked into it, and it can't sync with Outlook calendar. Pretty sad. Blackberry, iPhone, and my old Palm managed this but not Samsung/Google. So, so, sad. Oh well, Windows phone's can't either.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S II review
did you get any thing else from that FB user that provided you with the last update? :)
